Media Practitioner.
He is a postgraduate in English Literature (Dept. of English), University of Calicut, has an MBA (institute of Management in Kerala), hold three distinct Postgraduate diplomas in Journalism and Communication (Print Media), Kerala Press Academy, Kochi. Postgraduate diploma in Science and Development Communication, (Television) C-DIT). Postgraduate diploma in Communication (New Media), Asian College of Journalism.

Before joining the EMMRC as its Director, Damodar Prasad was working at the Centre for Development of Imaging technology (C-DIT), an autonomous ICT institution under the Government of Kerala from 1998 onwards. He has worked at CDIT in various capacities. He was the Team Leader of “SutharyaKeralam” -media and governance project. Damodar Prasad had been in-charge of the Course Director of the Communication Training Team. He had also led the Computational Linguistic team at C-DIT.

He has produced TV programmes, documentaries, spot videos and multi-cam studio productions. The productions portfolio includes the impact making, Hon.Chief Minister’s grievance redressal broadcast programme-Sutharyakeralam. He was the series coordinator of prestigious- Manavodayam programme catalyzed and supported by NCSTC.

Currently, Damodar Prasad is working on e-learning and new media projects.

He has done a periodical column in Malayalam, “Media Scape”. He has published articles on Media, culture and politics in mainstream print media. A few of his articles are available online, which includes the election analysis done for national daily Economic Times.

His domain of expertise and interests are Media production and studies, e-learning, social media theory, digital movie making, and currently, he his actively involved in the area of Digital Humanities.
