The objective of the documentaries is to stimulate student’s interest in diverse scientific concepts, processes and hitherto unknown facets of Indian art and culture. To realize these objectives, the Centre produces documentaries drawing upon the expertise of eminent teachers and researchers from Universities and premier research institution of Kerala.
Since its establishment, the Centre has produced over 300 exciting documentaries involving teaching faculty of the University postgraduate departments of Botany, Biotechnology, Centre for Folklore Studies, Life Sciences, commerce, and Management Studies, Chemistry, Mass Communication, Sanskrit and Zoology. In addition, several researchers of premier research institutes of Kerala have collaborated in the making of educational documentaries. Some of the collaborating faculty members and researchers have been conferred with UGC awards for their significant contributions
